Katerina Rizou is a licensed tourist guide specializing in educational trips, the gastronomic and wine private tours, familiarization tours, and the implementation of educational cultural tourism programs throughout Greece. She has been working as a tourist guide, since May 2015, offering unique experiences to visitors from all over the world.
Her educational background includes postgraduate studies in Historical Research, Teaching, and New Technologies from the Ionian University of Corfu, as well as a degree in Archaeology and Art History from the University of Bari, Italy, recognized and equivalent by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and various seminars, such as: Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence in Education, Museum Education, Adult Educator Training, Design of Museum Pedagogical Activities, Virtual Experiences Creator, VR Innovations in Tourism, Dark Tourism, Artificial Intelligence, Art and Environment, etc.
In her professional career, she has taught the course of Tour Guiding Techniques at the Corfu School of Tourist Guides and has participated as scientific collaborator of the Department of Audio &Visual Arts, of the University of Corfu, in numerous research programs about cultural heritage and innovation. She has also published articles in international scientific conferences.
Additionally, she holds a WSET, Level 1 AWARD IN WINES, certification, thus enhancing her knowledge in the field of wine and gastronomy and an open sea sailing diploma from the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki.
Her experience in historical research, combined with her love for cultural education, makes her an excellent scientist and professional in the field of tourist guiding.
